Bios

black:ECHO is an audiovisual project conceptualised by moonchile.Structured as thematic responses titled “variations” the work gathers lived narratives, primarily of the Black experience and renders them resonant through sound collage, visuals, and spoken word. Each variation becomes archive; memory refracted, reverberated and held in echo.

Esther Kehinde Ajayi is an interdisciplinary sound artist born in West London in 1996. She combines highly conceptual sound design with interactive technology and custom sound system design across various formats, including film, music, contemporary art and fashion. Since 2021, she has worked extensively in sound design for theatre in London, emphasising the spatial presentation of sound through hybrid systems that merge software, hardware, and visual elements to support narrative. Following research during her Sound Arts BA (2024), she describes her practice as "sonic cultural technology design," highlighting sound as a psycho-cultural tool for personal empowerment and community building when applied beyond the frame of music.

​​Tasnim Chowdhury transforms personal memory, heritage, and textile craft into a visual language and wearable technology where storytelling and handmade detail exist in conversation with one another.

Esther Kehinde Ajayi and Misseti Huth join black:ECHO for a collaborative performance titled Threads: A Silk Hymnal, an audio-visual movement piece meditating on the poetics of dress, exploring clothing as ceremony, as shield, as second skin.
