A Year of Houses, A Landscape Still Becoming

Halfway through Twelve Acts of Shelter, Act 7, across a long wooden table where houses accumulate as acts of language. Poems hang overhead, suspended between memory and architecture, while fragments from earlier performances are read aloud.

Join us for an evening that gathers the fragments of the preceding six acts into an evolving landscape of sculpture, text, sound, and performance. The night will unfold through installation, collective writing, and an open mic, inviting audiences to consider what forms of shelter emerge when language, memory, and desire are given physical form.

Writing materials will be provided, with a live improvised score by Ekas accompanying a guided freewriting exercise.

Phoenix Yemi is a Nigerian-British poet, artist, and curator whose work is dedicated to resistance through the erotic. Rooted in surrealist traditions of liberation, she works at the intersections of body and earth, desire and dissent, reimagining language to summon new ways of being. She has performed across London in spaces including Tate Modern, the Barbican, and the Serpentine. She writes A Worm Moon for Worms Magazine, and is the founder of Black Geographies.
