Reading

An evening of live readings by Shannon S Meekings, Jack Underwood, and Urve Öpik.

Shannon S Meekings is an East London-born poet of Jamaican and English heritage. Her work explores queerness, class, and family through intimate, sharply observed reflections. Her poems have appeared in The Poetry Review and Propel Magazine, with recent work selected by Sanah Ahsan.

Jack Underwood is a poet, writer, and critic. He is the author of Happiness and A Year in the New Life (Faber), as well as the nonfiction book Not Even This. He teaches Creative Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Urve Öpik is of Estonian heritage. Urve grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, lives in London, is a psychotherapist and a poet and is currently on the Writing Poetry MA at the Poetry School/Newcastle University.

Poems will be read aloud, with space to listen, share food, and meet each other.

There is an option for a free listening ticket or a paid ticket which includes a bánh mì (meat or veg—please select when booking) and a welcome drink.
Food is prepared to order based on ticket sales.
