Present Tense Zine (PTZ) 3: Almost Nothing PARIS Performance + Release

Present Tense comes to Paris for the launch of Present Tense Zine 3: Almost Nothing on Friday 23 October at Temple du Foyer de l’Âme.
For our third edition, Present Tense founder Bianca Pina worked with Paris-based musician Hugo Abraham to develop our most sonic edition of the zine yet.
Almost Nothing explores an economy of material, radically less, and the quality of silence. Poetry and sound move alongside one another throughout the issue, using repetition, duration, broken syntax, voice and elemental materials to ask what remains when a work is reduced towards almost nothing.
For the Paris launch, readings from the zine will unfold alongside a programme of live sound curated with Hugo Abraham, moving between poetry, acoustic sound and electroacoustic composition.
With performances by:
Marc Baron
musician and composer working with gathered and crafted sound, tape, microphone and loudspeaker.
Patrice Grente
double bassist and improviser presenting an acoustic drone for motorised bow and double bass, allowing its harmonics to resonate with the architecture of the space.
Pascal Le Gall
drummer and electroacoustic composer working with slowed sound materials drawn from records, recitations, songs and dance music.
Poetry by Mashiho Kameda & Sophie Marina-Jerome
Edited and hosted by Bianca Pina & Hugo Abraham
